How Brand Approval Works #
The approval process for your brand starts when LC Phone submits your business information to The Campaign Registry for vetting. This includes both a primary review and a secondary vetting process, which can increase your messaging limits and throughput.
Once the review is complete, you’ll receive a Trust Score, which determines:
- How many messages you can send daily
- Your long-code messaging throughput to U.S. networks (especially T-Mobile)

Steps to Maximize Your Trust Score #
To ensure your brand is approved with the highest possible Trust Score, follow these best practices when submitting your business data.
Step 1: Use a Valid EIN for U.S.-Based Companies #
- EIN (Employer Identification Number) is required for all U.S.-based companies. A DUNS number is not acceptable for A2P Brand registration.
- For non-profit and political organizations, make sure your EIN matches the Legal Company Name listed in the Tax-Exempt Organizations or Registered Political Organizations databases.
Tip: Ensure the company name you submit matches exactly what’s listed on your IRS CP 575 EIN Confirmation Letter. If you don’t have this document, request a 147c letter from the IRS.
Step 2: Provide the Correct Legal Company Name #
- Make sure to input your exact Legal Company Name as registered with the IRS. Avoid using shortened names or trade names.
Step 3: Use a Valid Tax ID for Non-U.S. Companies #
- For companies outside the U.S., use the relevant Tax ID from your country’s registration sources.
- If your business is based in Canada, you must provide the first 9 digits of your Business Number (BN-9) for brand registration.
Tip: Verify your tax information using your country’s official lookup tools (e.g., VIES VAT number validation for Europe, ABN Lookup for Australia).
Common Customer Errors with EIN/Tax ID #
To avoid brand registration failures, steer clear of these common errors:
- Incorrect Business Name: Ensure that you submit the legal name exactly as registered, without abbreviations.
- Invalid EIN/Tax ID: Use the correct number for your business type and location. For U.S. companies, do not submit a DUNS number.
- SSN Usage: If you’re a sole proprietor who uses an SSN for taxes, you may need further instructions from LC Phone.
Further Recommendations #
To ensure accurate submission, follow these additional steps:
- Check Your Business Address: The business address you submit must match the address registered with official databases. A mismatch can lower your Trust Score.
- Stock Exchange Information: For publicly traded companies, provide the correct stock ticker symbol and select the matching stock exchange from the available options (e.g., NASDAQ, NYSE).
- Company Size and Years in Operation: Although you can’t directly change these, your company’s size and years in business can affect your Trust Score.
